My Story |
|
|
As a wife and mother of two, I understand the importance of capturing images of your family as your children grow. My bachelor degree is in Human Resource Management, but my real passion is photography.
My goal is to create portraits that are unique and that capture real expressions of children and their parents.
The interest in photography started while I was in high school. Like so many others, I was forced to take an art class and photography seemed to be the least painful; little did I know that I would actually enjoy it! After high school, I joined the Army and didn't re-visit my interest in photography until 12 years later.
Our first daughter was born in 2002. I loved to take pictures of her and capture every possible expression she had. I bought a professional digital camera, some studio equipment, every photography book I could get my hands on and of course props, you can't forget the props! Before I knew it, I had my own portrait studio. Friends and family members started asking me to photograph them and their children and they encouraged me to start my own photography business. When our second daughter was born in 2005, life was very hectic, as both my husband and I were active duty Soldiers for the MN Army National Guard. I was a Captain in May of 2006 when I resigned from my 16-year military career to spend more time with my family and to start Lancaster Portraits.
I feel very fortunate to be able to say "I love my job!" I have met and worked with the nicest people that I would not have met otherwise.
Thank you to all of those who encouraged me to start my own business and to my husband who probably thought I was crazy when I told him that I wanted to quit my stable and secure career to stay home with our children and start my own business! I would also like to thank my clients for helping to make Lancaster Portraits successful.
Sincerely, Kristine Lancaster kristine@lancasterportraits.com (612) 618-2973 |
